S. 207 – A bill to enhance tribal road safety, and for other purposes

Introduced by Senator John Barrasso (R-WY) on January 24, 2019, this bill imposes an arbitrary 45-day hard deadline for the approval of a tribal transportation project upon receipt of the completed application, regardless of the project’s size, complexity, or level of public controversy. Further, S.207 provides for the delegation of federal determinations of Categorical Exclusions for certain transportation projects to federally recognized tribes.
